Activitiesin the area

The region offers something for everyone: it is historically a very interesting region because of the many traces of the 100-year war between the English and the French, which took place in the 12th and 13th centuries. In this period the beautiful “bastides” were built, fortified towns around a characteristic square such as Eymet 15 km away, but also Monpazier, Villereal, Issigeac, Castillones, Monflanquin, etc. There are beautiful castles to see, such as Château Monbazillac, Chateau Biron and des Milandes, or the castle of Josephine Baker.

Suitable for a day trip and well worth seeing are the pre-historic caves, including the famous caves of Lascaux, the fabulous pilgrim town of Rocamadour with the famous Black Madonna and the underground caverns of the Gouffre de Padirac, which can even be sailed.

Food lovers can also indulge in gastronomic France. The region is known for its products with plums and of course the delicious wines from the areas around Bordeaux, Cahors, Bergerac, and Duras. And everything accessible on day-trip distance.

Also, don’t forget to visit the local markets, there is one in the immediate vicinity every day. You’ll come home with delicious local delicacies, to enjoy on your terrace watching the sun fall to the earth….. after a nice plonge in the pool of course! If you still have energy left you can play petanque on our bowling alley on the Limouzy domain.

Are you more into sports activities? You can find several 9- and 18- hole golf courses near us. Or you can go canoeing on the Dordogne or the Lot or you can even sup. We can advise you about some beautiful walking tours in the neighborhood. If you prefer biking, there are some adventurous routes to challenge.
